The Gallery was first opened in 2005 by the brothers Cliff and Graham Towler; painters specialising in wildlife and Jurassic landscape paintings. Along with their paintings they also exhibited the earthenware pots of Rosemarie James, ceramic jewellery of Shairose Jetha and the stoneware pottery of Fiona Kelly, the latter having taken over the Gallery in early 2013. Since the change in management Fiona has introduced some new artist makers; Rose Hatcher, semi-precious jewellery; Wendy Nutt, silver jewellery; Linda Rowe, glass; and Caroline Walker, photography. In addition a programme of monthly guest makers has been commenced to showcase other Dorset based artists, to add an ever changing look to the Gallery.
The Gallery is staffed by the artist/makers, who will often be creating their artworks while chatting with customers. We are open 10-5, Monday-Saturday and Sundays 10-5 from the Whit bank holiday in May to the end of September.
